Calling All Cancer Survivors!
Please join the Rio Rancho Community and The American Cancer Society for the 2008 Relay For Life!
The Relay For Life is a walk and run for fun...and to raise money and awareness about cancer. Not only is the Relay For Life fun and inspirational, it also raises millions of dollars to help prevent and cure cancer and to support those battling this life-threatening disease.
Why Should I Attend Relay as a Cancer Survivor?
No matter what stage of Survivorship you are in, you are welcome, entitled and lovingly requested to be at Relay For Life.
You do not have to be in remission. You do not need to have been through chemotherapy or radiation treatment or surgery of any kind. You do not have to be a recent Survivor. You only need to be a Survivor, to have heard the words, “you have cancer.” You are ALL welcome here.
If you are a long-time Survivor, you will be Inspiration to those Survivors who are newly diagnosed. Your victory is their Hope. We ask that you come to Relay and be someone’s Hope. Perhaps someone was your Hope when you were first diagnosed – you can pay it forward at Relay.
If you are a newly-diagnosed Survivor, you will find Hope, Inspiration and Support at Relay. All you have to do is show up – it just happens. You will experience people cheering for you as you circle the track, you will meet fellow Survivors and perhaps make a new friend or two. The Magic just happens. Every time. You’ll feel it too.
The Cancer Survivor Lap will take place:
Date: June 20, 2008
